Why travel with TTV?
Thriving Through Venture has over 50 years of connections and history with Gunjur – the very place we visit.
Our founder Dr. Nick is the reason the beautiful Wiltshire town of Marlborough is twinned with Gunjur. The link is of reciprocal benefit; historically successful exchange programmes have made an enduring impact on both Gunjur and Marlborough. The sustainable partnership facilitates lasting projects in health, education and community projects.
- We bring groups together, provide opportunities for you to get to know your fellow travellers, both in Gambia and in UK!

How much does a trip cost?
We are not travel operators, but work with accredited agents to help build your trip.
- Typically flights range from £400- £900 depending on the time of year.
- Our in country partner The Gunjur Project Lodge typically charge for accommodation, food, and in country transport which can range from £250 -£350 per week depending on room arrangements and activities.
- TTV request a minimum donation of £250 per person for the work that we do in helping to put these trips together and to support our youth development programmes and charity running costs.
- Travellers are recommended to budget approx. £1500-£2000 per trip for a 1–2-week duration. Please note this can vary and not set in stone!

Why do we ask for a donation to the charity when booking with us?
TTV is a registered charity, run by volunteers and our purpose is to provide opportunities that give people a sense of purpose, a sense of belonging and connection with others.
Those of you who book our 18 + trips contribute £250 each to the charity. Your money is providing opportunities for young people who would never think they could travel or participate in personal development training, often due to financial hardships. Our ‘Reach Your Peak’ Programme and our UK youth development programmes are created for young people who are seeking mental resilience.
How can I get involved?
Our next groups trips will be in February 2027 and June 2027 and those travelling can flex on their travel dates, but we will let you know when our leaders are travelling.
