How applications & referrals work
- If you are under 18 then we require a joint application from the young person and their parent/carer which outlines why you feel this would be a beneficial programme for you.
- Referrals can also be made from schools or the Local Authority if you feel you have a young person that would benefit from this programme.
- Once we have received an application, we will contact you for an informal call/meeting.
- If following an application and meeting, we all feel this would be a suitable programme then further paperwork will be required and course start dates/itineraries etc. will be provided.
NOTE: We only have a max of 12 spaces per programme.
What does RYP programme cost?
Typically, a 9–10-month programme including an international rip costs the Charity £2,500 pp.
- TTV covers £1000 per young person as a contribution through our Youth Development Fund, which is raised through fundraising, sponsorship and grants.
- Young people participating in this programme and International Trip are required to raise/fund a minimum of £1500 per person.
- A non-refundable £250.00 deposit is required once you’ve been accepted on the programme and a start date has been provided. This can be self-funded, or a school / LA can cover this cost.
- We request that each young person fundraises/self-funds the remaining £1250, this will be paid across two instalment giving time to raise the money and our team will support the young people, but we can’t do it for you!

What happens if you don’t reach your fundraising target?
TTV will explore all options to help get the whole team over to The Gambia.
However, if funding is not met and not available through a range of different approaches you will have the opportunity to join an International trip the following year, providing a longer amount of time to raise funds / donate the funds you have raised to the TTV Youth Development Fund /opt out of the international part of the programme.
